Henriksen.POSITION SUMMARY We are seeking a positive,
self-motivated, and result-oriented Corporate Senior Accountant to
join our Accounting team. This position will not only work cross
functionally with all members of the Accounting and Finance team
but also interface and partner with other departments to resolve
accounting and operational issues and identify and improve
processes. This position will not have supervisory responsibility;
however, is expected to support less experienced staff.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Ensure proper and timely recording of financial transactions in
the general ledger in accordance with IFRS and company
policies
- Participate in month-end close activities including the
preparation and review of journal entries
- Prepare monthly reconciliations of assigned balance sheet
accounts and ensure timely resolution of reconciling items
- Prepare complex account reconciliations
- Pursue continuous improvement for the closing process
- Provide support for completing yearend audit as
assigned
- Proactively identify and resolve/improve business issues
impacting the general ledger with other departments
- Understand, develop, and enforce proper accounting practices
and internal controls
- Prepare policies and procedures as assigned
- Perform complex and/ad hoc financial analysis as
assigned
- Perform validation and financial reporting for legal entities
to parent company
- Perform variance analysis for reported financial
statements
- Work with cross functional teams to execute various special
projects and transactions.
- Learn, review and recommend modifications to accounting systems
and procedures for obtaining efficiency.
- Document standard operating procedures in detail for all
aspects: journal entries, reconciliations, systems etc.
- Learn and utilize the business intelligence tool to analyze and
improve efficiencies.
- Assist establishment of Key Performance Indicators (KPI) for
the company and accounting group.
- Perform other duties and projects as assigned
- Support and mentor junior staff in the accounting team
REQUIREMENTS
- 7+ years' experience in accounting and public
accounting
- 5+ years' experience in general ledger senior accountant
level
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
- CPA a plus
- Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple tasks
simultaneously
- Must be highly accurate and detail-oriented
- Experience with ERP system, Microsoft Dynamics 365 a
plus
- Strong computer and superior analytical skills, including
advanced Microsoft Excel skills
- Eager to improve existing processes and can effectively
prioritize.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Proficient understanding of IFRS and/or Generally Accepted
Accounting Principles (GAAP).
- Excellent verbal, written communication, and interpersonal
skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with all levels of employees,
management, and external agencies to maximize performance,
creativity, problem-solving, and results.
- Must be able to effectively handle multiple projects
simultaneously in a deadline-driven environment
- Consumer products or manufacturing industry experience a BIG
plus
