Job Description:

This entry level individual contributor position develops, curates, and produces a variety of written content, in English or other languages as appropriate, under the guidance of more senior staff.

Additionally, this role supports development and execution of creative strategy from idea generation to completion by recommending modifications to strategy to ensure effectiveness, coordinating and providing materials for collaboration with cross-functional teams, ensuring content is compliant with legal and regulatory standards, and protecting the KP brand voice.
Essential Responsibilities:


  • Pursues self-development and effective relationships with others by sharing resources, information, and knowledge with coworkers and customers; listening, responding to, and seeking performance feedback; acknowledging strengths and weaknesses; assessing and responding to the needs of others; and adapting to and learning from change, difficulties, and feedback.
  • Completes work assignments by applying up-to-date knowledge in subject area to meet deadlines; following procedures and policies and applying data, and resources to support projects or initiatives; collaborating with others, often cross-functionally, to solve business problems; supporting the completion of priorities, deadlines, and expectations; communicating progress and information; identifying and recommending ways to address improvement opportunities when possible; and escalating issues or risks as appropriate.
  • Develops, curates, and produces a variety of written content in English or other languages as appropriate for a variety of media channels/platforms by communicating with business partners to determine expectations for content; reviewing and interpreting creative and/or advertising briefs; writing clear and persuasive content; editing and proofreading content; coordinating with design to complement the copy with visual elements; ensuring optimization of all content for search engines as appropriate; interacting with business partners and other stakeholders; and revising content based on feedback.
  • Supports the development of ideas and concepts for short- and long-form content by brainstorming strategies for relaying relevant messaging to target audience; editing presentations for compelling ideas to business partners and other stakeholders; participating in meetings with creative leadership; and editing materials for presenting initial ideas to creative leadership.
  • Conducts research relevant to assigned projects, under the guidance of more senior staff in order to ensure understanding of audience, markets, and project objectives by developing an understanding of the target topic; how the topic will influence the audience; determining what makes the topic appealing to consumers; the target audience; and keeping abreast of competitors and market trends to avoid similar executions.
  • Supports development and execution of creative strategy from idea generation to completion by recommending modifications to strategy to ensure effectiveness; coordinating and providing materials for collaboration with cross-functional teams; ensuring content is compliant with legal and regulatory standards; and protecting the KP brand voice.
    Minimum Qualifications:

    • Bachelors degree in Arts, Sciences, Business, or related field OR Minimum Two (2) years experience in communications, writing, marketing, or a directly related field.



      Preferred Qualifications:

      • One (1) year in health care or another heavily regulated industry (e.g., Banking).
      • One (1) year project management experience.
      • One (1) year professional experience in community management and the development of social media content.
      • One (1) year professional experience in the development of digital or multi-media content.
      • One (1) year technical writing experience.
      • One (1) year commercial, promotional, or marketing writing experience.
      • One (1) year journalism experience. Bachelors degree in Communications, Marketing, Advertising, Journalism, or English. Successful completion of a Kaiser Permanente collegiate internship program.
