91P Artillery Mechanic

Company: Army National Guard
Location: Burbank
Posted on: November 6, 2018

Job Description:

Since the Army National Guard relies on an array of electrical systems and components for targeting, aiming, and firing artillery weapons, we need experts to perform the necessary work on our field artillery units.

It's the Artillery Mechanic who keeps these weapons operating properly. As such, you will learn how to maintain these systems; troubleshoot and diagnose equipment malfunctions; and repair, test, and adjust damaged equipment.

It requires a basic foundation in the workings of the internal combustion engine and vehicle electrical systems. In addition to conventional construction-related trades, the skills you learn as an Artillery Mechanic will help prepare you for a future as an electronic mechanic, an avionics technician, or a missile facility system mechanic with civilian firms that design, build, and test weapons for the military.
