Description This position is responsible for building the capability of the Director of Operations, Area Managers, Call Center Manager and any other exempt personnel assigned to the operations group in the region. The VPO will be responsible for overseeing and ensuring that productivity objectives are met and action steps are put in place to improve performance and reduce variability. This position will also work with the Director and Call Center Managers to reduce the number of compliance and safety incidents. The VPO will assist with annual budget planning, operating expenditure which includes salary/wage considerations and assist in the preparation of operational data for Quarterly Business Reviews. In addition to fiscal responsibilities VPO ensures that regional operations KPIs, metrics and initiatives are met. From time to time the VPO may be assigned operation projects that will directly impact current or future operations within the region. The VPO is expected to present process improvements to the RGM in an effort to eliminate waste, improve productivity and the increase the bottom line.

  • Build the leadership and management capability of the exempt staff
  • Develop a positive work environment across the region by recognizing the positive contributions of the employees and by sharing information in an open and timely manner.
  • Manage assigned projects within specific service lines.
  • Share best operational best practices across the region and rest of the organization
  • Ensure the staffing levels are commensurate with the budgeted patient count activity. This includes the field techs as well as the call center personnel.
  • Continuously monitor the tech (XRAY and Ultrasound) and Call Center staff productivity against the established targets. When appropriate, conduct process reviews to determine the root cause(s) of any variation and put in place any required changes to help improve performance and reduce waste.
  • On a monthly basis, review the operating expenses to ensure the proper steps are being taken to stay within the budgeted guidelines.
  • Monitor the utilization of all company assets (XRAY, Ultrasound, Fleet, etc.) and when needed. Coordinate the redeployment to areas where they can be optimized without affecting the level of service to the customer.
  • Maintain a strong working relationship with the other functions within the region and company to ensure the level of service to the customer is consistent.
  • Ensure compliance and safety procedures are adhered to and all employees are held accountable for their actions.
  • Oversight on interviewing and hiring practices in service area.
  • Ensure the company performance planning process is properly executed. This includes the preparation of performance reviews, assigning mentors to new employees, enforcing the open door policy, etc.
  • Responsible for planning and preparing all operational Capital Requests.
  • Participate in the strategic planning for current and future service lines within the region. This includes taking an active role in all acquisitions.
  • Responsible for ensuring all sites are prepared for inspections and that all documents is current and relevant to the specific service line.
  • Assist the RGM in preparing and delivering the quarterly and annual reports to Senior Management Qualifications Education Required Bachelors or better.
