Meruelo Media in Los Angeles has a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity, as we search for the next Program Director of the legendary Power 106, and the iconic 93.5 KDAY. In this role, you will report to the VP of Audio Brands to take the strategy for the stations and develop a tactical plan to bring it to life.

You have a strong track record with rhythmic and Hip Hop formats in highly competitive situations. You understand and can articulate what is unique about the LA audience profile and how to reach them.
You have next-level organizational skills; you love people and have experience coaching on-air talent and developing morning shows with personality. You have an instinct for finding angles to program and promote sticky content, and understand the meaning in promoting your wins.
You also excel with audio technology, software, and studio operating systems.
You plan ahead for monetization of assets and promotions.
On your career path, you have been some combination of on-air talent, morning producer, APD, MD or PD.
You understand PPM methodology, market research and digital data.
You understand FCC regulations, client relationships, and you thrive in a fast-paced live broadcast environment.
You have a working knowledge or better of Music Master or Selector or an equivalent music scheduling software.
Meruelo Media is California's fastest-growing minority owned-and-operated media company. In addition to KPWR/Power 106 and KDAY, its assets include some of the most identifiable radio brands in Los Angeles, including 95.5 KLOS, Southern California's Rock Station, and Cali 93.9 # 1 for Reggaeton y Mas.
This role also includes the following duties and responsibilities:

• 
  
• Ensure all content meets the company and FCC standards.
  
• Direct image production resources to enrich sonic branding.
  
• Partner with promotions department for big Tier One promotions and giveaways
  
• Manage sales requests with talent for endorsements and appearances
  
• Lead talent coaching and airchecking
  
• Lead morning show development with producer
  
• Manage team and workflow for operating system inputs - music, commercial production, image production, for a smoothly running studio Operating System
  
• Managing the studio operations to ensure focus, formatics and commercial break times are followed
  
• Actively listen to the station
  
• Manage resources for show support
  
• Manage board ops and mixers for scheduling and support
  
  Education Requirements:
  
  • 
    
  • A degree in mass communication or equivalent experience in the broadcast media industry
    
    Experience Requirements:
    
    • 
      
    • Minimum of 5 years radio programming experience
      
    • A basic understanding of Nielsen PPM ratings best practices
      
    • A thorough understanding of the Hispanic Southern California audiences
