Crane Aerospace & Electronics combines the experience of long-time industry leaders to supply critical systems and components to the aerospace and defense markets. Our products are found in some of the most demanding environments, from engines to landing gear, from satellites to medical implants, and from missiles to unmanned aerial systems (UAS).

Aerospace & Electronics' Burbank, CA site is a critical business within Aerospace & Electronics from a revenue and profit standpoint representing about a third of the Group's total. Burbank is home to Landing Systems, Cabin Systems and a small part of the Fluid business with over 600 associates.


  • Landing Gear Systems: The market leader in integrated landing gear system solutions. The Company supplies brake control, brake temperature monitoring, and trademarked systems for wireless tire pressure monitoring, and landing gear control and indication, nose wheel steering and hydraulic control systems for various aircraft platforms. The Company can configure systems to support a variety of aircraft architectures including fully integrated solutions, which are optimized to save weight and volume and offer superior performance.

  • Cabin Systems: A global leader in aircraft seat positioning and control technology, with a full range of solutions from main cabin seat recliners to powered actuation systems for premium class seats.

  • Fluid Management: Over 110 years of experience and is the market leader in fluid management systems. The Company pumps are well known for being the most reliable component on aircraft engines. With a variety of fluid management solutions, including centrifugal pumps, positive displacement pumps and true mass fuel flow transmitters, the Company can precisely match solutions to customer specifications.

    Position

    The Director of Human Resources will have responsibility for all aspects of the human resources function at the Burbank site. This person will work with the executives at the site as strong business partner to ensure the success of the business. This will include critical focus on building organizational capability as it relates to a growth agenda, driving cultural change initiatives supporting the Crane Business System and, in particular, providing leadership for The Crane Intellectual Capital process, a well-defined, world class approach toward all talent related processes, from recruiter selection to standardized interviewing/selection and performance management. The Director of Human Resources will be responsible for working closely with the Burbank leadership team and his/her team to execute on strategy deployment priorities as well as organization planning & talent management, performance management, employee relations and communications, labor relations, diversity initiatives, compensation and benefits, policies and employment practices, safety, and regulatory compliance.


    • Quickly develop strong relationships and credibility with key members of the team; and consult/execute with leaders regarding key organizational issues related to the attainment of business plans

    • Play an active and key leadership role in developing "one-team"

    • Participate in the development of business plans and programs as a strategic partner, particularly from the perspective of the impact on the organization's Intellectual Capital processes addressing talent, development and overall organizational capability

    • Translate the strategic and tactical business plans into HR strategies and tactics

    • Provide hands-on leadership for talent review process and drive execution of the plan on an on-going basis

    • Mentor management in identifying needs, hiring A-players, and developing & retaining outstanding people focused on achieving stretch objectives and beating the competition

    • Ensure HR metrics and key performance indicator systems are consistently tracking the appropriate measures and provoking appropriate responsive behavior

    • Lead and develop team of HR Business Partners, HR Coordinator and Recruiting Specialist.

        Minimum Qualifications:


        • Experience: 10 years' experience in a progressive HR department with at least five years in a supervisory/management role.

        • Knowledge: Familiar with a variety of the field's concepts, practices, and procedures; Current HR policies and practices specific to doing business in California

        • Education/Certification: BA Degree in applicable field

          Preferred Qualifications:


          • MBA or Master's in Human Resources

          • HR Certification through an accredited source

          • Experience in a high-tech manufacturing environment, Aerospace industry a plus
