Job Description Hand Therapy Aide OSS Physical and Hand Therapy
is seeking an energetic and hardworking Therapy Aide to join our
outpatient facilities in Burbank and Glendale. Orthopaedic Surgery
Specialists (OSS) is an expansive company dedicated to providing

therapists and doctors that call OSS home. Position Summary: Under
close supervision of a physical therapist, perform only delegated,
selected, or routine tasks in specific situations. These duties
include preparing the patient and the treatment area. Minimum
Education/Experience: High School Diploma or equivalent. Relevant
B.S. degree preferred, but not required Previous experience is
desirable. Two weeks of paid training is standard for new employees
Experience in an outpatient setting is highly preferred Seeking
individuals pursuing graduate school in healthcare Skills Required:
Strong communication and interpersonal skills are also preferred
Knowledge of exercise Ability to work in a team environment Working
knowledge of computer programs. Ability to multi-task efficiently
and effectively Armenian or Spanish speaking is a plus Proof of
COVID-19 vaccination status required, as well as Reports to:
Directly to the Clinical Supervisor for Hand Therapy The
Therapists, Therapy Administrator, and Medical Professionals and
Partners have indirect oversight Job Responsibilities: Duties will
consist of, but not be limited to: Clean and organize work area and
disinfect equipment after treatment. Instruct, motivate, safeguard,
or assist patients in practicing exercises or functional
activities, under the direction of therapists. Record treatment
given and equipment used. Administer therapeutic exercises and
modalities such as ice, heat, light, ultrasound, or electrical
stimulation treatments. Transport patients to and from treatment
areas, using wheelchairs or providing standing support. Change
linens, such as bed sheets and pillowcases. Secure patients into or
onto therapy equipment. Schedule patient appointments with physical
therapists and coordinate therapists' schedules. Observe patients
during treatment to compile and evaluate data on patients'
responses and progress and report to physical therapist. Confer
with physical therapy staff or others to discuss and evaluate
patient information for planning, modifying, or coordinating
treatment. Arrange treatment supplies to keep them in order.
Perform clerical duties, such as taking inventory, ordering
supplies, answering telephone, taking messages, or filling out
forms. Maintain equipment or furniture to keep it in good working
condition, including performing the assembly or disassembly of
equipment or accessories. Assist patients to dress, undress, or put
on and remove supportive devices, such as braces, splints, or
slings under therapist supervision. Participate in the patient
Fitness program Physical Requirements: Fully vaccinated against
COVID-19 (meaning you have received a booster OR completed your
second dose of Pfizer or Moderna within the last 6 months OR
completed the first dose of J&J within the last 2 months)
Walking distances are occasional and no greater than 50 yards,
unless walking to or from the parking garage Moderate phone usage
Requires frequent lifting and carrying items weighing up to 30
pounds unassisted, including assisting patients when required.
Adequate physical ability including sufficient manual dexterity to
perform the requisite health care service. Requires frequent
bending, reaching, repetitive hand movements, standing, walking,
squatting, and sitting, with some heavy lifting, pushing, and
pulling exerted regularly throughout a regular work shift. Check us
