Job Description:

Coverage Needed Start Date: 02/02/2026 End Date: 08/01/2026 Schedule: 40 hours per week, 8 hours per day, 5 days per week Clinical Details Provide professional medical direction, oversight, and direct patient care in a correctional facility Administer examinations, diagnose medical and other problems, prescribe medications, and provide treatment and follow-up care Participate in treatment team meetings and direct unit treatment operations Perform minor and occasional major surgery Hold clinics for nursing specialists Maintain a good working relationship with facility staff, nursing staff, contract providers, and outside provider agencies Utilize established corporate, facility, and correctional policies and procedures Monitor inmate/resident inpatient hospitalizations and facilitate early release when clinically appropriate Prepare and maintain a variety of standard narrative, statistical, summary, and/or operational records, reports, and logs Accept on-call status Attend seminars, workshops, and conferences as required Requirements Graduate from an accredited school of medicine Must be licensed to practice medicine in the state of employment A valid driver's license is required US Citizenship required for ICE clearance BLS that meets compliance requirements Subject to thorough background and credit investigation for clearance
