Job Description Job Description Role Summary Our client, a leading AmLaw 50 international law firm, is seeking Investment Funds Associate Attorneys to join its Investment Funds practice in Los Angeles. This role offers the opportunity to work on sophisticated investment management and fund formation matters alongside a collaborative, multidisciplinary team. Associates will receive direct client exposure and play an active role in a growing practice advising prominent investment managers. Key Responsibilities Advise clients on investment management and fund formation matters. Represent a range of fund types, including private equity, hedge funds, private credit funds, real estate funds, hybrid funds, and other alternative investment strategies. Support matters involving retail alternative funds, including business development companies (BDCs), interval funds, and closed-end funds. Collaborate closely with attorneys across practices to deliver comprehensive legal solutions. Interact directly with clients and contribute to practice growth and business development initiatives. Required Qualifications Juris Doctor (JD) from a top-tier law school with strong academic credentials. Active California Bar admission, in good standing. 3–6 years of substantive experience in investment management and fund formation. Demonstrated experience with private equity, hedge, private credit, real estate, and hybrid funds, as well as alternative investment strategies. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills with exceptional attention to detail. Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team; entrepreneurial mindset preferred. Preferred Qualifications Experience advising on retail alternative fund structures (e.g., BDCs, interval funds, closed-end funds). Prior experience in a large law firm investment funds practice. Compensation & Work Model Compensation: Competitive base salary ranging from $260,000 to $390,000, plus a bonus structure tied to performance and experience.
