Job Description:

The VP of Marketing & Community Relations manages the daily marketing function of the Credit Union by overseeing the advertising, marketing, branch retail, public relations, and community involvement functions.

Creates campaigns and directs all aspects of production for promotions, member communications and point-of-sale materials in accordance with marketplace trends and member-specific research.

Researches and makes strategic recommendations using data trends, demographic data, personas, market research, data analysis, member feedback, and input from the front line to acquire new members, deepen existing member relationships, and increase product penetration and utilization.

Leads and contributes to the development and execution of the annual Marketing Strategy, including both Retail and Business; includes marketing campaigns, sales support, and community relations efforts.

Revises and updates all marketing material in accordance with LFCU’s brand standards.

Oversees the Credit Union’s community marketing and advertising activities, including print, online, direct mail, and other traditional and non-traditional opportunities. Analyzes impact of various messages and specific advertising vehicles via vanity numbers, control groups and other tools.

Produces sales and business development materials for a variety of teams, including brokerage consultants, real estate loan officers, and commercial real estate officers.

In conjunction with the Manager of Community Relations, provide guidance to LFCU’s public relations plan, community events, and sponsorships.

Manages the Marketing and Community Relations budget, including planning, return on investment, and profitability. Provides monthly reporting outlining status against goals. Operates within allocated budget.

Collaborates with internal business units to identify their priorities; aligns marketing activities to meet/exceed agreed-upon goals in support of business unit revenue generation and production unit expectations.

Manages strategies to ensure Logix brand remains relevant and focused on LFCU. Promotes and maintains a positive brand image of the credit Union to LFCU personnel, members, vendors, and the community.

Uses MCIF data and other analytics to understand product and delivery channel usage trends, perfect targeting, and measure results.

Manages branch merchandising elements to ensure a consistent, sales-oriented atmosphere is maintained in branch offices.

Remains current on laws and regulations that affect marketing ensuring marketing pieces and disclosures are technically and legally compliant.

Maintains an awareness of developments and trends within the financial industry and laws and regulations as they relate to marketing and advertising.

Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

QUALIFICATIONS (Education, Experience, Knowledge, Skills & Ability):

Must have 8 or more years of experience in marketing at a financial institution. 3-5 years of previous leadership experience.

Demonstrated success developing promotional campaigns from concept through completion.

Must have a bachelor's degree (B. A.) preferably in journalism, marketing, public relations, or business management. Master’s degree preferred.

Thorough knowledge of database marketing and MCIF systems.

Must have excellent copy writing skills, solid understanding of marketing fundamentals, ability to analyze data and trends as well as a solid understanding of brand, strategic positions, media, advertising, public relations, product development, e-commerce functions and the ability to design and execute campaigns that generate new members, deposits, loans, investments for LFCU.

Knowledge of Smartsheet and graphic design (Photoshop, Illustrator) software a plus.

Ability to handle multiple projects on time and within budget with attention to details. Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.

Knowledge of laws and regulations as they relate to marketing and advertising preferred.
