Job Description:

Woodbury University invites applications for the position of Transfer Credit Specialist. The Transfer Credit Specialist is a part time position, reports directly to the Registrar and is responsible for the analysis and articulation of all transfer credit for prospective students. The position is responsible for evaluation of overall academic status and providing transfer credit support for students and their admissions counselors.

This position qualifies university sponsored employee benefit plans and programs (e.g., group health insurance, annual vacation, sick, and paid holidays) prorated for part time staff, subject to the eligibility requirements and conditions of each plan and program.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for unofficial student evaluations of transfer credit based on university policies.
  • Aids in maintaining Woodbury University's institutional transfer evaluation system and ensures consistency of posted transfer equivalencies.
  • Assists the Administrative Specialist for Evaluation and Registrar in the creation of transfer guides.
  • Provides notifications to the admissions team of unofficial transfer credit award and anticipated student class level.
  • Provides recommendations for transfer equivalencies.
  • Other duties as assigned.

    Qualifications and Education Requirements

    • Minimum of bachelor's degree, advanced degree preferred, with minimum of two years related experience.
    • Should be familiar with current academic regulations and standards of confidentiality and security dictated by law and common practice as well as standard best practices. Demonstrate ability to learn university curricula and to develop knowledge of academic and administrative policies and procedures. Orientation and training for this position takes a minimum of one year (a full academic cycle).
    • Technical sophistication is essential including familiarity and proficiency with relational and information systems and databases; proficiency with Microsoft Windows, Windows based applications and other software.
    • Effective verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills to interact diplomatically and responsibly with a diverse student population.
    • Ability to collaborate effectively in writing and orally with other University departments and offices and work cooperatively as part of a team.
    • A detail orientation and skills in analysis and problem solving are critical

      Physical Requirements

      • Close vision, hearing/listening, and clear speech.
      • Hand/fingers dexterity to work with computers.
      • Walking, lifting and carrying up to 25 pounds.
      • Ability to utilize office equipment such as computers and copiers
      • Kneeling, stooping, bending, sitting, squatting, standing, etc.
      • Works with/around and has verbal and face-to-face contact with others.
      • Works indoors in an office environment the majority of the time.
      • Complex reading and writing ability.
