pollution to protect the public and environment and ensure
conformance with Federal, State, and local regulations and
ordinances. Dimensions: Reports to the ISRCP Manager and interacts
with the operations/maintenance staff, industrial pretreatment
staff, laboratory staff, and the administrative staff. Maintains
courteous and effective relationships with the client, plant
visitors, vendors, contractors and co-workers. Incumbent has no
direct reports. Determine the nature of code violations and actions
to be taken, and issue written notices of violation. Examine
permits, licenses, applications, and records to ensure compliance
with Federal, State, and local regulations and ordinances. Prepare,
organize, and maintain inspection records. Prepare written reports
summarizing requirements and regulations, including enforcement and
chain-of-custody documentation. Perform follow-up actions in cases
where violations were found, and review compliance monitoring
reports. Investigate complaints and suspected violations regarding
illegal dumping, pollution, or hazardous materials. Inspect waste
pretreatment, treatment, and disposal facilities and systems for
conformance with Federal, State, and local regulations. Determine
sampling locations and methods, and collect water or wastewater
samples for analysis, preserving samples with appropriate
containers and preservation methods. Research and keep informed of
pertinent information and developments in areas such as EPA laws
and regulations. Observe and record field conditions, gathering,
interpreting, and reporting data such as flow meter readings.
Analyze laboratory reports and document compliance with local
limits and categorical limits. Learn and observe proper safety
precautions, rules, regulations, and practices so that unsafe
conditions can be recognized and proper safety protocols
implemented. Maintain and calibrate equipment and supplies.

dim, and moist environments.QualificationsEducation/Equivalent:
Achievement of CWEA Environmental Compliance Inspector Grade I
certification is highly desirable, and will be required within the
first twelve months of employment. Grade II or higher is preferred.
Previous experience as an Environmental Compliance Inspector or
equivalent experience in an environmental field is recommended.
